Huilloc Community Tour

This community is located near the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It is a Quechua community that still keeps alive its ancestral customs and traditions.

Its inhabitants are representatives of the Inca legacy and share with visitors who come there to isolate themselves from the urban world, they have lodging service, they manage different rituals in honor of their Gods, they also offer food service and sell native handicrafts. It is one of the most specialized communities in rural community tourism.

The experience in Huilloc Alto is an unparalleled alternative that you can make on your visit to Cusco. We will visit a village that maintains Inca traditions. During the tour we will have fantastic views of the snow-capped mountains that surround this place and the beautiful flora.

This experience is intended for all people who have an adequate and optimal state of health to the necessary demand, you can do it individually to meet new people, as a couple or with friends with whom to share emotions and also as a family to live an unforgettable adventure.

We will start with our trip from Cusco to Ollantaytambo, and then to the community of Huilloq, for a period of 30 to 40 minutes approximately.

In the place you can perform activities such as:

Weaving demonstration. – In this activity, we will learn how the women of the community prepare their materials, extract the wool and use natural dyes for this activity.

At the indicated time, we will have a typical meal, which may include Cuy cooked over an open fire, accompanied by the natural products of the region, or some other dish that has been previously agreed with the company.

Activity 2: Demonstration of agriculture: Through this activity, we will be able to see firsthand how the inhabitants of Huilloq cultivate their land and the tools they use, as well as participate in these activities. Afterwards, return to the city of Cusco.

HUILLOQ ALTO EXPERIENCE 01 DAY

• 07:00 – 09:00 Pick up from your hotel and transfer to the town of Ollantaytambo.
• 09:00 – 10:30 We visit the temple of Marqacocha and the archaeological center.
• 10:30 – 11:00 We will visit the association Queuña Qocha Mayu (Huilloc Alto). We will have a reception with typical costumes very typical of the place and we will have a tasting of mates with natural inputs.
• 11:00 – 12:30 Walk to the Suchococha lagoon and we will be able to see the variety of agricultural tools that are used.
• Free time to observe the Offering to the Pachamama.
• 12:30 – 14:00 We will enjoy our buffet lunch with all-natural local products with tasting of Andean drinks and watching typical dances with live music.
• 14:00 – 15:00 We will observe the demonstration of local textiles and we will be able to participate in it knowing more about the iconography.
• 15:00 – 17:00 Pleasant farewell to the community and return to the city of Cusco.
