The Maras Moray adventure on ATVs is an experience that will leave us completely excited and speechless.
Maras is a small town located on the slopes of a mountain and is recognized for its natural salt pools.
These salt flats consist of shallow wells that hold salt water and have been used over the centuries for the production of salt.
On the other hand, there is Moray, a set of agricultural terraces that are distinguished by their peculiar circular shape, which were possibly used to experiment with different crops and adapt them to different altitudes and climatic conditions.
Our experience begins in the morning at 06:45 am with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. Our trip begins to be able to reach the Cruzpata sector first, where an instructor will previously tell us how the ATVs work and we will have a short practice time. After this, our adventure begins. First, we embark to visit Moray where we discover the beautiful terraces. circulars that during the Inca era served as agricultural acclimatization centers, after some free time we continue this route to reach our base where we will leave the ATVs and by transport we continue to reach the natural salt flats of Maras, a very interesting and enigmatic place where we will discover the process of how this precious mineral is obtained, at the end our transportation will take us back to the city of Cusco arriving at approximately 2:00 pm in Plaza San Francisco.
MARAS MORAY ON ATVS HALF DAY
- 06:45 – 07:00 We begin the experience with pickup from your hotel.
- 07:00 – 07:40 Travel from Cusco to our base in Cruzpata.
- 07:40 – 08:00 Brief instruction on safety and practice with ATVs.
- 08:00 – 10:00 The adventure begins on ATVs first to the terraces of Moray.
- 10:20 – 11:30 We resume the trip to the base and continue by transportation to reach the Maras salt mines.
- 12:30 – 14:00 Finally we return to the city of Cusco.
Our experience ends in Plaza Regocijo
