The Maras Moray adventure is an experience that will leave you completely thrilled.
Maras is a small town located on the slopes of a mountain and is renowned for its natural salt ponds. These salt ponds consist of shallow wells that hold salt water and have been used over the centuries for salt production.
On the other hand, there is Moray, a set of agricultural terraces that are distinguished by their peculiar circular shape, which were possibly used to experiment with different crops and adapt them to different altitudes and climatic conditions.
This experience is undoubtedly ideal for travelers arriving with family, as a couple, with friends or even for those who prefer to explore alone in search of new adventures.
Our experience begins in the morning at 08:20 am with the pick up from your hotel in Cusco. We start our journey to arrive first to the sector of Moray where we discover the beautiful circular terraces that during the Inca era served as agricultural acclimatization centers, after some free time we continue this tour to reach the natural salt flats of Maras a very interesting and enigmatic place where we will discover the process of how this precious mineral is obtained, We finish our experience with a short time in the viewpoint and then we return first to the town of Chinchero where we will visit a textile center and finally to the city of Cusco arriving at approximately 14:00 pm in San Francisco square: 00 pm at San Francisco square.
MARAS MORAY HALF DAY
- 08:00 – 08:30 Start the experience at the hotel in Cusco.
- 08:30 – 10:00 We start our journey to the circular terraces of Moray where we discover the meaning of the circular terraces.
- 10:30 – 11:00 Our next stop is the village of Maras and the salt mines.
- 11:20 – 14:00 Finally we visit a textile center in Chinchero and then return to the city of Cusco.
Our experience ends in the Regocijo square.
